As a global company, each Rocket Lab site has its own unique internship offerings, but each position is designed to provide students with real-world experience and an opportunity to impact real programs within the space industry. WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
- As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees within the department to apply your knowledge and grow your skills both technically and professionally
- Work with a fast-paced group of professionals to apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges
- Attend frequent 1:1’s with mentors and supervisors to facilitate success and learning while providing progress updates
- Enjoy tech talks and network with other interns and employees through social and professional events
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will thrive in ambiguity and are excited to work in small, high-performing teams that are focused on continued learning and growth. Success in this position will be measured by the knowledge and experience you bring to the role, your ability to lead development projects without supervision, and your ability to successfully collaborate across teams to deliver results.
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- 3+ months of corporate function experience within the areas of accounting, finance, government, legal, marketing & communications, human resources, or supply chain.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- 6+ months of corporate function experience within the areas of accounting, finance, government, legal, marketing & communications, human resources, or supply chain.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2024
COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS
- Pay Range CA: $25 Hourly
- Pay Range CO: $22 Hourly
- You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs
ROCKET LAB CORPORATE TEAMS
SPACE SYSTEMS BD: The Space Systems Business Development Division is shaping Rocket Lab’s future customer growth with Photon, our brand of high-performance satellites, enabling innovative missions in low Earth orbit and beyond including missions for NASA to LEO, the Moon, and Mars and commercial customers including leading the design and manufacture of 17 high power telecommunication spacecraft buses for Globalstar.
FINANCE: Our Finance departments works collaboratively with process owners to understand business processes, including the inherent risks and the internal controls to mitigate them.
GOVERNMENT/ GLS: This team is responsible for capturing government revenue (business development and sales) to enable Rocket Lab’s sustained operations and growth as a company.
IT / EIS: Provides instruction, guidance, and technical support to the different teams at Rocket Lab to deliver and support IT systems through efficient management of the IT Service Desk. This is carried out via on-site desktop support, phone, IM, and email.
LEGAL: The Legal Counsel works closely with other departments to foresee and protect the company against legal risks, participates in Legal department initiatives, and recommends to management on how to respond to legal issues.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS: This team is at the forefront of Rocket Lab’s most exciting next steps, including our interplanetary missions to the Moon, Mars, and Venus, and the development of our new larger Neutron rocket. The focus for this team is working with our customers to develop content about their upcoming missions, engaging with our social communities, collaborating with our video team on shoots, building relationships with media, and so much more.
PEOPLE & CULTURE: Our People & Culture team is responsible for providing advice and counsel in all areas of HR including on-going employee relations, employee development, interpretation of HR policies, and creating and implementing new programs and initiatives. The position formulates partnerships across the People & Culture function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
SUPPLY CHAIN: Supply Chain works cross functionally with the demand, supply, and fulfillment planning within MRP (material requirement planning). This team is responsible for the beginning to end data, including metric related projects supporting MRP vendor/supplier data.
